Health and wellness
HIRO is dedicated to improving health and wellness literacy among underserved populations, including refugees, low-income individuals, and minority groups. Our goal is to empower individuals to take control of their health and well-being by providing access to health information, resources, and support. We aim to achieve this through a variety of programs and initiatives that promote health and wellness literacy, community engagement, and advocacy.
Programs:
-
Health and wellness literacy workshops: We will offer workshops on topics such as nutrition, exercise, stress management, and preventive care to underserved communities.
-
Community health fairs: We will host health fairs in partnership with local community organizations to provide access to health resources and services.
-
Advocacy and policy initiatives: We will work to raise awareness and advocate for policy changes that address the systemic barriers to healthcare access and equity.
-
Health navigator program: We will train individuals to serve as health navigators to help underserved populations navigate the healthcare system and access healthcare services.
-
Health and wellness library: We will create an online library of health and wellness resources in multiple languages for underserved populations.
